Colca Canyon Tour 2 Days Long Route

A journey to the Colca Canyon through the long route allows you to get amazing views from La Ventana del Colca (Colca Window), a natural geological formation and the confluence of La Pulpera and Colca Rivers.


Colca Tour 2 Days Long Route Itinerary:

Day 1. Arequipa - Pampa Cañahuas - Callalli - Mollepunko - Sibayo - Yanque

We will drive to Chivay town, along the way we will watch Misti, Chachani and PichuPichu volcanoes before approaching the National Reserve of “Pampa Cañahuas”, where we will stop to observe vicuña in its natural habitat. At this point we will be about 3,400 meters above sea level. Then we will continue to the village of Callalli, where we will have a box lunch. The private Colca Canyon tour guide will offer an optional hike to the Caves of Mollepunko (Carvings paintings) made by the first inhabitants of the area, dedicated to hunting and gathering. Then we will continue to Sibayo, where we can visit some archaeological areas and then enter to the village of Tuti, famous for its attractive colonial church. Afterwards we will continue to Yanque town, for relaxing in the hot springs. Transfer to the hotel located in Yanque, dinner and overnight.

Day 2. Yanque – Cruz del Condor – Cruz del Cura – La Calera Hot Springs – Arequipa

At 7AM Before breakfast we will do short hike to Achachihua view point located at 15 minutes from Cabanaconde town. At this view point, there are not tourists and you will enjoy the awesome views from the Oasis (Sangalle) inside the canyon and Huaruro waterfall. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant from where we will get great landscape views and condor’s flying. Then we will drive to Cruz del Condor views point for watching the condors and the Colca Canyon, afterwards we will hike to Cruz del Cura (optional), a short hike for around 1 hour from where we can get amazing views from the pre inca terraces and lagoons. Then we will continue to Chivay town visiting in route: Antahuilque and Wayrapunko view points and Maca town. Arrive to Chivay and visit to the hot springs for relaxing. Lunch in Chivay and departure to Arequipa. Arrive at 5PM.
