The loncco is the man of the field. His way of speaking is quite peculiar, since it combines Quechua and Spanish. He represents the mestizo culture of Arequipa, a mixture of Spaniards and indigenous people.
This identity inspired the creation of “La Ruta del Loncco”, in which 7 districts with a long agricultural tradition come together, such as: Sabandía, Characato, Mollebaya, Yaramba, Quequeña, Pocsi, Polobaya and the annexes of Sogay and Yumina.
These places present old ashlar buildings where you can still breathe fresh air and in whose fields you can see pre-Inca terraces that are still used today.

Sabandia Windill: Built in 1621, with colonial architecture and restored between 1971 and 1973.
Yumina Andean Terraces: 400 hectares of land irrigated with water from a small spring.
Picanterías: Traditional restaurants in Sabandía, Yumina, Characato, Yarabamba, Sogay and Quequeña that offer typical dishes such as: ají de lacayote, pepián de cuy, cuy con sango, cuy chactado, rcostillar de cordero, rocoto relleno, adobo, locro, caldo blanco, desserts such as wsango de trigo, queso helado and for drinking the delicious chicha de guiñapo.
Sogay Annex: Picturesque town with palm trees in its main square, ideal for walks that allow you to reach the Sogay waterfall and the town of Quequeña.
