Adventure and Culture Tour in the Colca Canyon

Adventure and Culture Tour in the Colca Canyon is specially designed for people who wants to visit the Canyon in a different way.  You will visit Canocota and stay in a family house, learning more about medicinal plants and local customs. Also we will visit the left side of the Valley: Coporaque, Lari and Ichupampa towns, crossing the bridge for stopping at Cruz del Condor viewpoint for arriving to Cabanaconde night. Next day we will  Cruz del Condor and the main natural viewpoints.

Day 1: Arequipa - Pampa Cañahuas - Patapampa - Canocota

Pick up from the hotel in Arequipa at 7:30 AM and departure to our private guided tour to the second deepest canyon in the world, driving on the left side of Chachani mountain (6070m), continue going up to 4200m, where is located the Natural Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, at this place we will watch vicugnas, lamas and alpagas. Arrive to Chivay and departure to Canocota (3750m).

Arrival to a family house. Typical lunch prepared with the local products (quinoa, alpaga, cheese, etc). Accommodation and visit to the crop fields where we will learn more about the local production and medicinal plants. Return to the house, dinner and host family night stories.

Day 2: Canocota - La Calera - Cabanaconde

Typical breakfast, then we will walk following the original Inca trail along the Huaynalima canyon to the hot spring of La Calera (3 hours). This walk offer spectacular views, fully of pre-Inca terraces. Arrive to the hot springs and relaxing time.

Then we will have lunch in Chivay and visit the right bank of the Valley. Along the tour we will visit the small viullage of Coporaque, Ichupampa and Lari, where is located one of the most beautiful churches of the  area.

We will cross the bridge for going to Cruz del Condor viewpoint, here we can watch the condors in the afternoon with no tourists.

Arrive to Cabanaconde, accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Cabanaconde - Cruz del Condor - Arequipa

Breakfast and departure to Cruz del Condor for watching the condors. Then we continue along the way to Chivay, stopping in the main natural viewpoints like: Wayrapunko and Antahuilque.

Lunch time in Chivay and departure to Arequipa.
