Volcan Hualca Hualca is located at 6025 meters above sea level and a local height of 1725 meters. This volcano is located in Cabanaconde.
It is a latent volcano in which the successive volcanic episodes have caused a fracture of the volcanic building causing lava eruptions not to be made only by the main crater.
The deposits reach up to 14 km, the basal diameter of the cone is 12 km, the crater is not detectable, the longest lava flow is 10 km and has a volume of 72 km3. It presents an abrupt cone, with visible lavas, a degraded crater, small ravines and moraines.
Its climate is cold and glacial, its vegetation is very abundant due to having very marked seasons. It has a very varied fauna. The whole year its summit is covered by a cap of perpetual snow.
To ascend the volcano it is necessary to have experience and specialized equipment, the ascent takes four days.
