The Pinchollo Town is located in the very heart of the Colca Canyon, at approximately 22 kilometers from Cabanaconde. It is a small town on the left bank of the Colca Valley.
The main activity of the inhabitants of Pinchollo is the agriculture, where potatoes, barley, broad beans and others are grown. In addition, they are dedicated to raising cattle, sheep, goats and South American camelids in the highlands.
According to the legend that when an Inca from Cuzco visited the town of Pinchollo, he found only one person living in each house in that town.
As good Christians, the town of Pinchollo celebrates San Sebastián, as Patron Saint of the town. Religious celebrations are held in its temple of the same name. The settler makes a stop to the daily work to attend the celebration of the festivity, go and communicate for a moment with the patron saint, and with God to receive blessings.
