Canocota is located at 35 minutes by car from Chivay town. Canocota vivencial tour 3 days offers to the visitors impressive deep rock walls, colorful landscapes, and its typical flora (queñuales forest) and fauna (high Andean birds). Few Colca Canyon tourists get as far as ramshackle Canocota as most organized itineraries turn around at the Cruz del Cóndor and stay in Chivay or Yanque. Canocota will impressive you with more authenticity and greater tranquility.

Day 1: Arequipa – Pampa Cañahuas – Patapampa – Chivay – Canocota

Canocota Vivencial Tour 3 days starts at 8am, pick up from the hotel in Arequipa and then start our private guided tour to the second deepest canyon in the world, driving on the left side of Chachani mountain (6070m), continue going up to 4200m, where is located the Natural Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, at this place we will watch vicugnas, lamas and alpagas. Arrive to Chivay and departure to Canocota (3750m).

Arrival to a family house. Typical lunch prepared with the loca products (quinoa, alpaga, cheese, etc). Accommodation and visit to the crop fields where we will learn more about the local production and medicinal plants. Return to the house, dinner and host family night stories.

Day 2: Canocota – La Calera Hot Springs – Chivay

Typical breakfast, then we will walk following the original Inca trail along the Huaynalima canyon to the hot spring of La Calera (3 hours). This walk offer spectacular views, fully of pre-Inca terraces. Arrive to the hot springs and relaxing time.

Accommodation in a selected hotel and lunch. In the afternoon visit to the local market and the Planetarium, for learning more about the Colca Sky. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chivay – Cruz del Condor – Arequipa

Breakfast in the hotel and then departure to La Cruz del Condor viewpoint; passing through villages as Yanque and Maca both towns are surrounded by pre-Incas terraces and friendly local people.
Finally we will arrive to the Cruz del Condor view point (3750m) at this place is possible to appreciate the flight of Condors and the canyon. Return to Chivay, lunch and return to Arequipa, transfer to the hotel.
