Discover the amazing landscapes through the Colca Canyon horseback riding tour which is a perfect way to keep in touch with nature surrounded with the mountains. Horse riding allows you to enjoy the magic of the natural viewpoints in the Colca Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world.
This horseback riding begins in Yanque and includes 7 hours by horse to Pinchollo from where you can see the andean terraces and the Colca Valley.
This tour is suggested for tourists who loves the contact with nature, along the route you will enjoy the awesome landscape, andean terraces and the condors flight. The route includes a horse riding local guide.
Perou Voyage also offers longer horseback excursions wich includes riding to Yanque, Coporaque town and the visit to Madrigal, where is located the Chimpa fortress.
Day 1. Arequipa - Patapampa - Yanque - Ichupampa - Lari - Pinchollo
At 5 AM Pick up from the Arequipa hotel and travel by tourist transportation to Chivay, the capital of the Colca Canyon region.
Arrive to Chivay at 8AM and then we will continue until Yanque, where is located the ranch.
At this time we will meet the horseman and we will leave the town of Yanque. We will cross the Chacapi bridge, passing by the small villages of Ichupampa and Lari, where we will arrive around midday. Here, we will have a picnic time.
Then we will keep riding going down to the Colca River and crossing the bridge until arrive to Pinchollo town. We will arrive to pichollo town around 3 pm. We will stay there in basic accomodattion, but we will offer the best possible.
Dinner and overnight in a basic accommodation. During this day we will ride for around 7 hours.
Day 2. Pinchollo - Cruz del Condor - Chivay - Arequipa
Early breakfast and departure to Cruz del Condor viewpoint, along the way we will pass by the lagoon in Pinchollo, watching the nature and the cropfields.
Arrive to Cruz del Condor viewpoint, where we will watch the condors flight.
Then we will come back to Chivay by car, stopping along thge way in the natural viewpoints. Lunch in Chivay and departure to Arequipa. Along the way, we will stop in: Patapampa for wathinng the mountain range and Pampa Cañahuas for watching vicuñas and alpacas. During this day, we will ride for 4 and a half hour.
Arrive to Arequipa at 5Pm and drop off to the hotel.
